The breakfast was fantastic, and the room was great too. Paul and Gail were wonderful hosts who made sure I had everything I needed. I’ve been visiting Devon for 50 years, and this is one of the best guesthouses I’ve stayed in, possibly the best. Nothing was too much trouble. Thanks for making my stay so good. I’ll definitely be back.

It was quiet, and I slept well. The room was small, as I knew when I booked, and the guesthouse is at the upper end of Paignton. The sink was so tiny that I couldn’t use it without hitting my head. When I ran out of milk and couldn’t find anyone around, I had to go into town.

The breakfasts were tasty and brought to our table by a friendly staff member, with Covid rules observed. Our room was spacious, nicely decorated and had a good-sized wall-mounted plasma TV, and the beds were warm. The staff were welcoming, and it made for a convivial guesthouse. I can only give it five stars.

We had a fridge in our room, and there was another one and a microwave in the shared lounge and dining area. A fan in the room came in handy during our mid-May stay. The place was clean and tidy, and everything felt easy. Breakfast was available, though we chose to eat out. Be ready to pay cash up front. We’ll visit again.

There’s a good range of breakfast choices, from cereal and toast to a full English. You can bring food back and eat it at the table, and they’ll provide cutlery. The staff were lovely and always happy to chat, and the service in the room was amazing. Great food, too.
