The Sands Hotel

We had a lovely four-night birthday stay at The Sands. The hosts were really friendly, and we had a lovely sea view from our window. Everything was nice and clean, and breakfast was just what we needed to get started each day. Parking at the front and back was well managed, so we didn't get blocked in. We'll be back next year.

The room was excellent, with a terrace, comfortable large beds, everything needed for a lovely stay, plenty of tea and coffee, and personal toiletries, which were a real treat. It was immaculately clean, in a wonderful location. Parking was tricky, as I'd messaged ahead about needing a close space due to mobility needs, but after a couple of issues the proprietors sorted it out immediately. We found them kind, friendly and great hosts. The TV signal in our room was weak, but neither issue would put us off coming back. Excellent value for money. Many thanks to everyone at The Sands.

The view over the bay from our room was stunning, and the staff were charming and friendly. Some parts of the place are a little down at heel, but we very much enjoyed our stay. Would we come back? Most certainly.

Our room was very clean and tidy, and parking around the back of the hotel was free. The bathroom was nice, with an easy-to-use shower and good hot water. They supplied shower gel, shampoo, hand lotion, a shower cap and hand soap. The beds were comfortable, with two pillows each. We barely heard the seagulls, even with the window open. There was a double wardrobe, bedside cabinets, a chair, a dressing table and another chair, plus tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast was available at an extra cost. It was a five-minute walk to the beach, with a cinema nearby and shops and restaurants only a short walk away. We had some meals at Wetherspoons. I'd recommend staying here.
