There was refurbishment happening while I was there, which made it look like they’re investing in the place. I was staying for work and really liked my room, especially the sea view. My one issue was the low frosted-glass window right beside the toilet. I still felt exposed, so I hung a towel over it for peace of mind. A blind would be a better fix. I’ll definitely come back. 🤗

The room had everything we needed and was a comfortable size, nicely decorated, and came with a sea view. Breakfast was perfect, and our host was amazing, always ready to help with anything. I’d stay here again without hesitation.

The seafront spot beside the harbour is hard to beat, and it’s only about an eight minute walk to town and the Paignton steam railway station. We had a recently refurbished ensuite shower room. The owner plans to redecorate the remaining rooms soon, and some have already been done, along with all the ensuite bathrooms and shower rooms. Breakfast was nicely cooked and presented, with full English or Continental options, and there’s a comfortable lounge for guests. The owner was friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Free parking is available at both the front and rear. We’re looking forward to another visit soon.

The location worked really well for us, near the harbour and far enough from the busy main shopping area. Our room was roomy and had everything for a comfortable stay. Breakfast offered plenty of choice, and the cooked meal was generous and tasty. The staff were kind and helpful throughout. We had a fabulous stay at The Torland and plan to visit again.

Breakfast was excellent, and the pleasant, well trained staff gave excellent service. It’s a small, very nice hotel close to the seafront, with clean, comfortable accommodation that’s clearly well cared for.
