Sue lets my children feed her fish after breakfast every morning, which they always love. We feel like family here, and have gained two more family members. My family and I have stayed twice for two nights each time, and this is now our go-to hotel. Sue and Duncan are absolutely lovely and always happy to help. The rooms are clean and the service is great. We’ll definitely be back to see them again ❤️

Sue was warm and welcoming, and we enjoyed spending time with her. Our two nights at Valdene were wonderful. The room and the rest of the place were spotless, and Sue served us a delicious full English breakfast each morning. I highly recommend staying here when visiting Paignton or nearby Totnes.

Sue, the owner, gave us a warm, friendly welcome. Our room was comfortable and very clean, and the cooked breakfasts were delicious, 10/10. The whole family is friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Would we stay again? Definitely.

Sue, you’re amazing. I couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming host, and it really felt like home from home. The spacious, fresh room and ensuite were spotless, with towels, toiletries, tea, coffee, and everything else. Breakfast was so yummy that I couldn’t wait for the next morning. The Valdene is highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back xx

Darren and I had a fantastic three-day stay, thanks to Sue and her family. We were well looked after, had some lovely conversations, and everyone was very friendly. Breakfast was superb. We’ll definitely return. We stayed from 25th of August to 28th 2014.
