Harefield Hall

The rooms were really cosy, and breakfast was just as delicious as the meals. The owners and waiters were wonderfully friendly and hospitable. One person in our party arrived late, but still got exactly the same warm treatment and service as the rest of us. We had a fantastic experience and look forward to bringing the family back.

Mike and Elaine are friendly and chatty, and along with the colourful locals they give the place a warm feel. There are little nooks and crannies if you’d rather find a quieter spot. The Hall is a beautiful old building full of character, down a quiet lane with stunning Yorkshire Dales views. The rolling hills and green fields are lovely, and we were lucky enough to see three deer moving through the woods. The bar has a suit of armour, a roaring fireplace and lots of cool ornaments. My girlfriend and I had dinner by the window in the beautifully decorated restaurant, looking out at the Dales hills. There was plenty of choice on the menu, and the steak and scampi we ordered were delicious. The hotel also has a superb bar and restaurant serving delicious food. We can’t wait to visit again. Definitely recommend!

We ate at the hotel both nights because the food was so good, and breakfast was plentiful. Our room had a huge, comfortable bed and great views. The building is incredible, and very well cared for for an old place. There aren’t many staff, so service can take a little longer, but it feels more personal than at a big chain hotel. I’m happy to wait if they remember which drink I like! I’d recommend this place to everyone and can’t wait to bring my girlfriend back for our anniversary.

Harefield was a lovely place when we stayed earlier in the year, tucked into the countryside overlooking the nidd valley. We got a complimentary room upgrade, which was a nice gesture, and the room was comfortable with great valley views. The bar was open and had a good range of beers and spirits, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The kitchen wasn’t open during our visit, unfortunately, as we’d have liked to try the food. We’d definitely visit again.
