The shepherd’s pie was so good it should have been illegal, and my daughter inhaled her burger in five minutes, calling it “frickin amazing.” We’d been to the tontine before heading to the crown, and choosing this place was a great decision. We had an amazing Sunday lunch on 4th Jan and will definitely be back. If you’re visiting Peebles, make it a stop for lunch or dinner. From the moment we arrived, service was perfect: polite and attentive, with a relaxed atmosphere. We had menus and drinks ordered within four minutes of sitting down. The food was outstanding. I work for JB foods and deliver there most weeks, so it was nice to try the food we deliver. Thanks to all the staff and chefs. Five stars from me.

Everything always tastes fresh, and I’ve never had a bad meal here. We brought family today and recommended it for lunch, and they were impressed too. It was busy, so booking is a good idea at weekends.

We’ve enjoyed coming to The Crown for drinks several times, and today, 11/01/26, we tried Sunday lunch. We couldn’t fault it. We were greeted and shown to our table, the food arrived quickly, and it was the best Sunday lunch I’ve had. The food and service were both second to none. I’d highly recommend it.

We popped in on Saturday afternoon for a quick drink, then decided to get a bite to eat as well. It was busy with both locals and visitors, and it’s lovely to see a pub thriving in these testing times. The staff were polite and attentive, and the service was super fast.

We had dinner in the Conservatory, and the food was delightful, with wonderful flavour and presentation that made the most of local ingredients. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Just wonderful all round.
