Seascape

We stayed in room 3 again, this time as a couple. It gets lovely sun and looks over the tennis courts, promenade and sea. The place is clean, well located, and much better priced than the hotels and pubs with B&Bs where we usually stay. The shared kitchen and dining room are excellent, with plenty of mugs, water jugs, tea, coffee, UHT milk and all the utensils you might need. There’s also a fridge in the room, handy if you bring proper milk, and a dehumidifier with disco lights that we switched off. The bedding was acceptable and the room was good and clean, though you might want to bring an extra pillow. The bathroom is basic, with a small electric shower that was still leaking from the tray when I reported it last time, plus a tiny basin and a shelf placed just where you can bump your head. It’s serviced accommodation with key code entry and remote management, so there’s no on-site staff apart from the lovely cleaner, and no hotel-style facilities. That can mean a wet, windy walk to find dinner. It was quiet on my first visit, but this time scaffolding work woke us early, presumably for storm damage to the roof. The crew climbed past the bathroom windows, and one person talked loudly without stopping. We didn’t hear the other rooms, and the shared areas were mostly unused and quiet. Parking worked on my first stay because my motorcycle fit in the on-site space alongside a car. The second time it was full, but we found street parking nearby without trouble. We were there out of season.
