The food was outstanding at this beautiful pub. We tried cauliflower wings, steak, ham egg and chips, a burger, ribs, sticky toffee pudding with an amazing sauce, fresh crumble with a brilliant topping, and a huge cheese board. That chef is something else. The service was lovely too, and it was really nice chatting with the lovely woman who owns the place. Sorry we didn’t get your name. It’s an authentic Cornish pub in a gorgeous village, well worth a visit. Xx
Everything was cooked and presented just right, with the vegetables served separately and a good choice of them. The meat and vegetarian Sunday lunch options were both excellent, and the service was friendly too. Such a big improvement. We’ll definitely come again.
Really warm, friendly staff and a great night. The smash burger was amazing, and the chips rock! But the vegan burger was a letdown: £17 for a cold, sad, mushy bean patty with no salad and hardly any flavour. That’s why I can’t give five stars. Everything else was great, though I’d avoid that burger.
The people here are kind, welcoming, and down to earth, and the food is amazing. The specials alone might be worth a star. I’d absolutely recommend coming for dinner.
The pub itself is beautiful and the service was great, but our Sunday roast didn’t live up to what we expected. The beef was disappointing, and either the gravy or the Yorkshire had a rather salty taste. The carrots were really hard. We like a bit of crispness, but these weren’t right.
