The Pirate Inn

We stopped at The Pirate Inn in Penzance on 2nd Jan 2026, and it was a cracking pub. The place was clean, comfortable and well run, with a lively buzz that never got noisy or chaotic. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and full of character, and the staff were relaxed, friendly and helpful. The food was hearty, full of flavour and cooked well, with proper pub portions. No fancy nonsense, just the kind of meal that makes you glad you ordered it. A brilliant Penzance gem, and we’d happily go back and recommend it to visitors.

The pub has a cosy feel, and we really enjoyed the food and drinks. Our hosts were warm and sweet, looked after us well and responded promptly to all our requests. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and had all the amenities we needed. We had a great stay at the Pirate Inn and highly recommend it.

After a busy day, I stayed at The Pirate Inn with a couple of old friends. Our cabin suited us well, apart from the worm in the toilet, which caught me by surprise. The pub was warm and the staff welcoming. We shared crab linguine, fish and chips, and gammon and chips. Everything was tasty, reasonably priced and came out quickly. There was a very loud, sweary group where we first sat, which took away from the atmosphere a bit. We moved to the other side of the bar and barely noticed them after that. I’d recommend the place.

We loved having our own table in the private garden just outside the cabin. It’s an easy 15 minute walk into town, and the value was hard to believe. The cabin was clean, cosy and practical, with everything thought of. The shower felt luxurious. A wonderful stay, hugely recommend.
