It's a warm, friendly local pub, and they pour a really nice glass of Bass. The building has a lovely International Style, though the interior itself isn't anything special. In winter, you can't count on food being available.

Our afternoon tea for two was a gift, and we were very happy with it. The savoury and sweet parts were nicely balanced, and tea or coffee came with refills. The staff were friendly and helpful. Honestly, it's probably the best afternoon tea we've had. We'd happily recommend it and go back, perhaps to try the menu.

The sunny terrace is lovely, and the staff, food and ale were all good. It's ideally placed if you're leaving early for the Scilly isles. Thoroughly recommend.
