Phillipa's advice about local sights and places to eat made planning our outings easy. We’re from Australia, and our time in her lovely home only confirmed how rewarding a UK B and B stay can be. Our room had plenty of space and big windows facing the front garden and park. The bathroom worked well and had a shower that was simple to use. Breakfast was a highlight, with choices made the day before, a faultless traditional English breakfast, fresh juice, homemade jams and marmalade, and good coffee. When we arrived, we were welcomed with a pot of proper tea and homemade shortbread. We took our time enjoying that before dealing with our bags and looking around Venton Vean B and B.

We loved the house and the delicious breakfasts, and our room was spotless with a style we really liked. Philippa made our stay as pleasant as she could, and she was a wonderful host. I came with my mom, and we’d absolutely choose Venton Vean again if we make it back to Cornwall. I’d recommend staying here. Best wishes to lovely Philippa.

The house feels warm and inviting, with nicely done decor and clean, comfortable rooms. It’s also ideally placed for walking into town or down to the seafront, with a lovely park right across the road. And that breakfast was unbelievably good. Thanks so much, we’ll be back.

We were really pleased with the food, facilities, and hospitality from Philippa and David during our nearly week long stay before the Montol festival at the Winter Solstice. David’s breakfasts were delicious, and with enough days there we got to try lots of the menu without finding a dud. Philippa looked after us up front and shared useful tips and recommendations. It was a great base for Penzance and the surrounding area. Don’t hesitate to book at Venton Vean.

We’re coming back for the third time in a row, and I’d happily recommend Venton Vean to anyone after a peaceful, friendly, comfortable stay. The hosts are excellent and very accommodating, and the breakfasts are a lovely way to start the day.
