We had a delicious dinner with plenty of choices, and the bar was lovely in a relaxed setting. The staff were friendly and accommodating despite being clearly busy, and nothing seemed too much trouble. The inn's renovation has been thoughtfully done, and you can feel its long history, with so many people having stayed there over the centuries. We also visited Ferry Meadows and were lucky enough to spot a Red Kite.

I celebrated my birthday in the Bell Inn at Stilton's bistro restaurant and had a fabulous time. Hannah and the Bell team looked after us so well, and there were lots of dishes to choose from. The restaurant had just the right atmosphere. Thanks to everyone for taking such good care of us. I'd gladly eat there again.

We came to the Bell Inn for a weekend of board games in a cosy, atmospheric coaching inn, and it was perfect for that. Dick Turpin's room has a great table, even for games that need lots of space, plus comfortable chairs and a rustic fireplace. There are plenty of tucked-away nooks around the historic building, whose architecture suits its history. The service was the standout. The staff were consistently helpful, nothing was too much trouble, and I felt they had our best interests at heart. The food was very good too: I had turbot one night and lamb the next, both cooked to a high standard. There was a substantial wine list and a good range of cheeses, which you'd hope for in Stilton. Breakfast offered several cooked options as well as continental items. Our room was comfortable and fairly priced, with a good bed and a balcony. It was plain and the bathroom wasn't fancy; the shower took a while to heat and wasn't very powerful. There was also a small coffee machine, which was a nice bonus. The prices were a little high, though the quality made them acceptable. I'd highly recommend staying at the Bell Inn.

Stilton made a convenient halfway stop for our trips to and from visiting family in Manchester, and we stayed overnight at the Bell on both legs. The hotel was comfortable and had good food and drinks. Service was friendly and courteous each time. Emma deserves special mention: she dealt with our questions efficiently and always with a smile, and nothing seemed like too much trouble. She's a credit to the group.

I haven't stayed at the hotel, so I can't speak to that, but the food was yummy. A special mention for the waitress serving my family and me on the evening of 28th December. She was great, even though she seemed to be looking after the whole restaurant mostly on her own.
