The bar and food were a real highlight: it’s friendly and warm, and the food is generous as well as top quality. The bar staff and chef couldn’t have done more, 10/10 for both. Parking is behind the building, though be careful on the deep gravel in very wet conditions. It’s right on the A1, but we never heard a thing in our room, probably because the walls are incredibly thick. The price was cheap, and the sheets and towels were super white and clean. There was tea, coffee and biscuits in the room, plus a good TV and Wi-Fi. I stayed here a long time ago in the 90s, and it hasn’t changed in some ways. The bar is friendlier now, and the rooms feel much cosier. From the moment you walk in, it feels historic, and its heritage is clear when you learn it dates back to around 1571. The rooms are cosy and warm, with everything you need. Just remember it’s an old group of buildings, so the floors creak and the plumbing is dated. That shouldn’t put you off. I can’t fault it for a large function or a stopover, just perfect.

Bret was amazing throughout and made the planning easy and the day run smoothly. The Sibson was our wedding venue last week, and we’d do it all again in a heartbeat. We wanted somewhere beautiful and charming, but still down to earth, with no pretensions. As soon as we met Bret and saw the venue, we knew it was the one. The upgrades made over the past year have only made it more beautiful. The service was incredible, and all the staff were fantastic, though Bret really made the experience special. We wanted charm without guests having to pay a fortune for a room or drinks. We’re delighted with our choice and only wish we could do it all again.

The location worked really well for us, near Peterborough and some lovely villages. It’s a cosy pub and restaurant, with tasty food and plenty of gluten-free choices. The staff were great, and our room was nicely decorated with everything we needed. You can hear the A1 outside, but the road noise didn’t come through in the room or bar. We’d definitely stay again.

We had pie and chips at the pub and really enjoyed it. Service was friendly and great, and food is served until 8pm. The motorhome pitches were basic but did the job for a quick stop. There’s no electric hookup or water, and the toilets are only accessible while the Inn is open. Parking is free if you eat in the pub, otherwise it’s £10 per night. The A1 nearby makes it noisy, and the Inn looks a little tired, though it was clean and welcoming.

The food was a highlight, including breakfast, and all the staff were lovely. Vicky and Kirsty were especially friendly and went above and beyond while juggling reception, the bar, orders, serving and clearing up. The cosy bar and restaurant were great places to spend time, and our dog enjoyed watching the rabbits in the large garden from the bar window. We stayed one night on our way from Kent to North Yorkshire. The A1 location made it an easy stop without a big detour. Our dog-friendly room was a bit tired and could use refurbishment, but it was clean and warm. The old-looking over-bath shower had good pressure, and the double bed was very comfortable. We’d recommend the hotel and plan to return. Thanks to all the staff.
