The host was helpful, and there's ample parking, though public transport only comes by occasionally. The accommodation is simple, with just enough space for us all to sit together for meals and games. It's a pretty village with few amenities. The location works well for the coast, moors and forest, but getting to them is difficult without a car.

We spent two days here with a group of friends. The place and rooms were very good, and the mattresses and covers were clean. The neighbours were excellent and very polite. It's very peaceful, though you'll need a car to get to Dalby forest. My one wish would be a deep clean of the floor carpet, or a better ventilation system.

The setting is ideal for outdoor activities, with beautiful trails in the North York Moors all around. Our large group had an amazing stay at YHA Dalby Forest. The hostel was clean, cosy and well equipped, and the owner was friendly and communicative, making us feel welcome. A great spot for groups wanting to explore nature and unwind together. Highly recommended!

The location is excellent, with plenty to see and do nearby. The rooms had central heating and the showers were nice and hot. But for what I paid, the hostel facilities fell short of the standard I expected. There was little or no proper storage in the rooms, and essential kitchen equipment like the microwave and cooker weren't working properly. The oven failed on our last day. The kitchen wasn't fit for purpose and felt unsafe.

The common room was cosy, with leather seats, dining furniture, a wood-burning stove, and plenty of games and maps. The kitchen was a bit small but had everything needed for cooking. It's one of the smaller Youth Hostels, with a volunteer warden who changes most weeks. Ours was excellent, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about the area and organisations. The facilities were good and clean, and a lot of thought has clearly gone into making the place eco-friendly.
