There was dog mess in the garden, and I found dog hair on the furniture. I adore dogs, but I don’t want to sit among their mess or hair. We stayed in the old watchmakers cottage, and it was dusty, with cobwebs and coffee and tea stains on the lounge floor. I’m a qualified cleaner, and the dust looked like it had been left for weeks, not just a few days. With COVID still a concern, the cleaning standard was disappointing.

Cosy and comfortable, with everything well equipped. It’s very handy for the New Inn at Cropton, where the beer is good and the food is great. Would definitely recommend.
