We had a really good long weekend at The Piddle Inn, our second year staying there, and we'd happily come back again. The seven of us had the whole back section of the pub to ourselves, with four bedrooms, a huge lounge, a separate dining room and a fully fitted kitchen. The weather was lovely, so we spent time in the back garden too. The place is still a work in progress and isn't perfect, but it has that old English character.

The landlady was brilliant, so friendly and hardworking, and the evening meals and drinks were excellent and really good value. Breakfast was great too. We stayed in Room 2, which was spacious, with a big bathroom, bath and shower, and a very comfortable bed. The view across the river and fields was lovely. It can get busy and noisy in the evening, especially around closing time when you're trying to sleep, but that didn't bother us. We had a perfect stay and would love to come back one day.

We had the entire pub to ourselves for a long weekend celebrating an 80th birthday, and it had everything we could have wanted. There were four good sized en suite bedrooms, lots of different indoor seating areas, outdoor seating with a BBQ and fire pit, plenty of parking, and a fully equipped industrial kitchen. Couldn't have asked for more. Thoroughly recommended, and I hope we can return before too long.

The River Piddle was right outside our window, and our room was much bigger than we'd expected. We stayed three nights and were very happy with it. The hosts were fabulous, the food and drinks lovely, and the locals were friendly too. We found two fairly long walks in the beautiful surrounding countryside on the village website. If you want a characterful inn in gorgeous surroundings, you can't go wrong.

This tiny, quiet village felt a world away from everyday bustle, but was well placed for drives to Poole and Weymouth. The locals were friendly and helpful, and the staff were superb and couldn't do enough for us. Our double en suite was beautifully presented and spotlessly clean, with tea and coffee facilities, a hair dryer, a TV and a really comfortable bed. Breakfast was a delicious full English that set us up perfectly for the day. Thanks to everyone at the piddle Inn for making us feel so welcome and at home.
