Birchwood

Dean and Paul have made Birchwood feel warm and welcoming. On a cold, wet February night, the log-burning stove in the hall was just what we needed. The atmosphere is laid-back, and the hosts are attentive and take good care of you. We enjoyed the complimentary snacks outside our room, and Paul even sent us home with bags of his homemade toffee popcorn for the kids. They loved it. The house is beautiful, and our room was nicely decorated and very comfortable. We only stayed one night, but would gladly have stayed longer to enjoy the bar and library and try the dinner menu, which sounded amazing. A great weekend stay, and I’d thoroughly recommend Birchwood to anyone after a boutique-style hotel in lovely Pitlochry. Hopefully we’ll return.

We had a wonderful honeymoon at Birchwood Pitlochry. Dean and Paul were excellent hosts, running the hotel with so much care and hospitality. Our room was lovely, cosy and spacious, and the bar is gorgeous, with a great selection of local and national products. The common areas were inviting and nicely decorated, and the hotel is conveniently placed for getting around town, visiting the theatre and going on nature walks. I’d been worried the food might not meet our expectations because we booked while the hotel was still vegan, but my concerns turned out to be unfounded. Every dish was carefully prepared and delicious. The wine list was good too, with reasonable prices. I fully recommend staying at Birchwood and would love to return.

The house is beautiful, and Paul and Dean are so welcoming. We had a lovely stay at Birchwood Pitlochry, with delicious food and a vegan four-course dinner for our wedding anniversary that we especially appreciated. Our dog had the best time too. I’d recommend this place to vegans and omnivores alike. We’ll definitely be back.

Dean and Paul made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived, and gave us really helpful suggestions for things to do nearby. My partner and I had a great time during our two nights at Birchwood Pitlochry. The four-course vegan dinner was incredible, fresh and tasty, and the cocktails were spot-on. We had a very good stay!
