The rooms are simple and clean, and the showers are hot with good pressure. It’s handy if you need a bed while driving on the M5, and it does the job, though I won’t be rushing back. It was warm during the heatwave when I stayed, and there’s no air conditioning. Opening the window meant traffic noise, but that’s to be expected.

The clean room and bedding, nice shower, and excellent staff were good. Ash at reception was polite, welcoming and helpful, and tried to sort out my problem. His manager refused to refund me or accept the voucher, though, and didn’t show customer service skills. They could have had a great review and recommendations, and giving one room away wouldn’t have made the business go bankrupt. I wasn’t even asking for that. For CAPTAIN CLUB MEMBERS: I bought a £50 Wyndham hotel voucher on the roadchef app and booked through the Wyndham hotel app, which seemed sensible. At the hotel, they wouldn’t accept the voucher. You have to call the individual hotel and book directly, even though it’s the same company. Another scam, guys, be warned. It cost me £100 for a £50 room.

The room was nice and fairly priced, and being dog friendly worked perfectly for our stopover. Some areas of the hotel are a bit dated, but it was all clean and comfortable. Ash and Nick were friendly, informative and helpful, and gave us a warm welcome and farewell.

The room was basic but clean, and the motorway location is convenient. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. They’re doubling the points needed for a free night, and Platinum members no longer get a free drink and snack.
