Travelodge Plymouth Derriford

The first time I stayed overnight in Plymouth, I compared prices and found this place offered the best deal. It was easy to drive into the city centre from here. My twin room was spotless and comfortable, with fresh linen and towels, a TV, and everything for making tea and coffee. The shower room and toilet were faultless. I was at the back of the building, so it was very quiet, and I didn’t notice any other guests overnight. I slept well, though the good mattress was a little firm for me. I’ll make this my first choice when I visit Plymouth again.

A handy place to stay when visiting Derriford hospital, with a pub in the same car park for an easy meal and somewhere to relax. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the hospital’s main entrance. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly.

A cheap, basic Travelodge that’s fine for a night. The bed was comfortable and the shower did the job. The bottle opener at the end of the table was a nice touch. Our toilet wouldn’t flush properly, but the staff were helpful when I told them and said they’d get it fixed. I was uneasy that there was no inside lock to deadbolt the room door at night. Take care driving into the car park in the dark: there’s a raised island that’s hard to see. It looks as though it once had a lit bollard, but now there are only bumpy curbs.

The basic facilities were clean and tidy, and it was very good value. I booked because it was near the hospital. There’s no restaurant, but a great pub is just a minute away for dinner.
