Poole Rockley Park Dorset- Pet Friendly

We stayed in a spotless, well-kept caravan in Oak Falls, a quiet, tucked-away part of the park with oak trees and a waterfall. Electric gates made it feel secure, and it was peaceful there. The main park is fairly small and there's not much nearby to do, so it's a good fit if you're after a quiet getaway.

The whole park felt festive, with decorations everywhere and even a Christmas tree in the caravan. Staff at the mash and barrel dressed up, and the entertainment had a holiday theme too. You can catch a bus right outside the park to Poole, then change for Bournemouth. We had lots of fun as a family and would definitely go again.

We booked a pet-free caravan because of allergies and were assured it had been cleaned and was pet-free. That wasn't true: the sofa was covered in white dog hairs, and they got all over our clothes. Reception insisted it was pet-free and said they'd send the cleaners back, but nothing was done. The website also says there's an indoor play area, but it was removed during Covid. There was nothing for the kids indoors when the weather was bad, especially when no children's entertainment was on in the show bar. Staff seemed clueless and didn't really care. I'd recommend another site. The place is poorly maintained, the pool slide wasn't working because of chemical issues, and the pool was over-chlorinated.

This caravan should never have been rented out. It smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, and there was a lighter, a cigarette butt and food debris under the sofa cushions. The kitchen was dirty and short of utensils, including a spatula, small knife and roaster. There was no hairdryer. The curtains were coming off their runners, and there was a hole punched in the bedroom door. The ensuite sink drain wasn't connected to the main drain, so water ran onto the ground. Pipes also leaked under the caravan. A pillow was soaking wet, and there was water in the electrics cupboard. The boiler started making dreadful noises that echoed through the caravan. I reported it twice, but maintenance never got in touch or did anything. It took so long for reception to answer the phone that I had to go there in person. They sent cleaners, and after I complained again on the second day, someone dealt with the smoke. The door was eventually removed but never replaced. I asked to move to another van, but nothing else was available. They offered me a lower-grade van, which I declined, then a small refund that still hasn't come through. The holiday was completely spoiled. When I can reach customer services, I'll ask for a full refund.
