This characterful hotel is well placed in Poole, near the quay and a convenient multi-storey car park. My room was small but comfortable, with two windows and a fan that came in handy in the hot weather. There was tea and a kettle, plus a good-sized shower room. The vegan breakfast was incredible, better than I’d imagined, though you need to request it a few days in advance. Communication before arrival was difficult, but the owners were lovely. I’d absolutely recommend it.

David was a great host and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. He cooked an awesome breakfast with delicious homemade sourdough. The bedrooms were lovely, and the kitchen lace was just a stone’s throw from the beach. I’d definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone visiting Poole.

The host went out of his way to make a stressful trip feel easy. He stayed up late for us when we were delayed, cooked an incredible breakfast, and gave us a lovely room. He was so generous, and I’d absolutely love to stay here again. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed staying at David’s Merchant House. David was a perfect host, helpful and willing, and made the best breakfast we’ve ever had. The room was spotlessly clean, with tea and coffee, and having a parking space was much appreciated. We recommend it without hesitation.

David made our Bank Holiday stay (25th-26th Aug 19) a real pleasure. He found us a lovely room and even fitted in a little EZ-bed for my 3yr old son. Everything was very clean, including the en-suite, and breakfast was included and amazing, just what we needed after a 45 mile ride. My family and I also loved how much there was to see and do within a 15-30mins drive. A great little place in a great spot. Thanks, David.
