Heights Hotel

The staff were super friendly, and everything looked very clean. There's a robot waitress that greets you and brings your order, which was a fun point of interest. It's easy to reach by car, with the hotel's own car park right beside it, and there are great walks and stunning views around Portland. The cafe and terrace have fantastic vistas, though the location is five-star mainly if you enjoy the scenery. The hotel is a bit away from many of the mainland's benefits. I'd happily visit again.

We had a fantastic meal at the bistro on Sunday, and the views from our window table were absolutely stunning. The carvery was the best we've ever had, and the Portland mess dessert was lovely and nicely presented. Belinda, our waitress, was especially friendly and accommodating, and the rest of the staff were very welcoming too. Thanks to chef Ross and his team. I highly recommend the Heights Hotel portland and will definitely come back, and use the hotel next time as well.

The view was the standout, amazing, plain and simple. My girlfriend and I had a little getaway here and loved it. Our room was spacious, clean and tidy, with decent amenities, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We ate well in the Bistro,Bar and adjoined cafe, and the gift shop inside had plenty of gifts.

The lamb special with potatoes and vegetables was amazing, and the drinks, meal and dessert were all nice. The service, though, really got in the way of my birthday dinner with my boyfriend. First we were seated right beside another couple, so close it felt like we could sit on their laps. We asked to move and ended up in a very dark room, where we had to use our phone torches to read the menu. Another waitress then offered us a brighter room, so we moved again before finally settling in. The restaurant wasn't busy, with only four other people there, but our two drinks took nearly ten minutes to arrive. Later, the bill came quickly, but all three waitresses ignored us for 20 minutes, so we eventually went to the bar to pay. They were chatting behind it and still left us waiting for about a minute. The food was good, but the waitresses need to improve their service. They kind of ruined my evening. It won't stop me coming back, though. I'm writing this so the management can see that the service needs work.
