Great location, but the cottage is starting to look tired. The garden is large and badly needs work. The listing says a gardener comes weekly, though I’m not sure where, because I didn’t see that happening here. Cleaning also missed some details. The TV only works over Wi-Fi and kept buffering, which got annoying. And the welcome pack was just a J cloth, black bag and sponge scourer left on the side. Maybe we shouldn’t be greedy 😊

A nice surprise, this comfortable two-bedroom place is tucked away off the road. The private backyard is pleasant, and the heating works really well throughout. The kitchen is modern, with the dishwasher, washing machine, fridge and freezer neatly tucked under the bench. Downstairs there’s an open kitchen and dining area, a separate lounge and another toilet. Upstairs are two bedrooms and a bathroom with a toilet. Everything was clean and tidy, and a couple of historic sites are only a few minutes’ walk away.
