Portrush Atlantic Hotel

The chef deserves compliments, the food was delicious and service stayed excellent throughout. Daire and the whole team were welcoming and attentive, and made me feel at home as soon as I arrived. They’d also arranged thoughtful little touches for my birthday. My room was spotless, beautifully decorated and clearly put together with care. I had a wonderful stay at the Atlantic Hotel and would recommend it to anyone visiting. I can’t wait to come back. Adrian and Grainne

The manager Dara was lovely and made us feel welcome. We enjoyed the food so much that we ate here three nights in a row, and couldn’t fault it. It’s great for families too. I’d definitely recommend it. Thank you!

My 89-year-old mother and I had booked adjoining rooms for two nights, at a total cost of £389. I was travelling from Spain, and she was coming from Belfast. When we arrived, unfortunately Mum wasn’t well enough to stay. It was beyond my control, so I politely asked whether the hotel could refund one room given the unusual circumstances. Management only referred me to the terms and conditions and showed no willingness to consider what had happened. It wasn’t a busy period, and I felt they showed no compassion or understanding. I’d travelled 210 miles to go back and forth and then return again to stay the two nights starting Monday. After that experience, I wouldn’t recommend the hotel to friends or family. Disgusted is the word.

We had a great weekend here. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast was excellent, and the front rooms have amazing sea views. It’s about a ten-minute walk to either strand, with plenty of bars and local places to eat nearby. Staff were friendly and helpful. I especially appreciated having storage for a surfboard or bike, since I wouldn’t want to leave either in the car overnight. There was good craic in the bar one evening. The car park is the main drawback. It’s tiny, very tight, and first come, first served. If you can’t get a space there, you may need to park overnight on the street around Ramore or Lansdowne. I did that without getting a PCN, thankfully. There’s also a free car park at Ramore where you can leave the car for 24 hours. A little hassle, but it wasn’t a major problem overall.
