Premier Inn Portsmouth North Harbour

Claire at reception greeted us warmly and took the time to find a room that suited what we needed. Those cheerful, personal touches make a real difference. The Beefeater is being renovated. My only complaints were that service was a little slow on a busy Friday and breakfast wasn’t very hot.

The receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful, but I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you have better options. It’s very old, and the Wi-Fi was terrible even after paying an extra £5 for premium. I had to move around the room to find a signal. I can’t remember the last time I stayed somewhere with Wi-Fi this bad. You expect it to just work now. Breakfast at the Beefeater restaurant next door also wasn’t worth the money.

There are two Premier Inns at this location with the same postcode, one high-rise and one only two floors. We ended up at the wrong one, so check which hotel you’re in before paying for parking. Luckily, we moved to the nicer two-storey one, with a Beefeater next door. The room was large, quiet and clean, with a great shower. The receptionist was very helpful with bus routes and times to The Hard. I’d stay here again.

Thanks for coming to our rescue and giving us a great end to an interesting UK visit. The room was clean and great, the food was great, and the staff gave brilliant customer service. Excellent value for money. Thank you!
