That bathroom really lets the stay down. It needs a proper revamp: there was mould, and the plastic gaskets and mouldings were brown and cracked, so it didn’t feel clean. That was a pretty jarring contrast with the clean, comfortable bedroom, which was good for the price. Staff were genuinely friendly, and the location is spot on, a short walk from Gunwharf Quays for shopping or exploring. Check-in was at a different hotel, which caught me off guard and felt awkward after a long journey. A decent stay, but sorting out the bathroom could make it much better. 💁♀️

I’d make this a regular pub if I lived in Pompey. I come to the area quite regularly, though, so I’ll definitely be back. The sweet and sour chicken with rice and peas was super tasty, and my cider brought the total to about £15. Everyone was really nice. I had a good chat with the three ladies working there, the lad in the kitchen seemed nice too, and so did the local fellas who came in. Fab lunchtime visit. Thanks, and keep up the good work.

When we’re visiting Gunwhalf quay, we always stop here for lunch. The daily roast comes with three meat choices and three sizes, and it’s proper homemade food for a great price. Two rounds of drinks and lunch for two came to £34. Good beer too 🥳

In my opinion, it’s the best pub around here. Good range of food, and the beer’s good too.

Just opposite Portsmouth The Hard, this is a comfortable, small and friendly local pub. Great food and prices, with traditional roasts served every day.
