The locals were so friendly, and I loved the pub’s feel and decor. We came down to Portsmouth from the West Midlands on Sunday to see a show and stumbled across The Wellington. Our Dalmatian loved the dog treats, and the place is dog friendly. The roasts were amazing, and the staff couldn’t have done more for us. There was also entertainment with an amazing singer, which made the visit even better. We’ll definitely return next time we’re down.

The Wellington was a bit noisy when we arrived after going to the Vue, but we stayed for something to eat. We both ordered fish and chips, and it was the best fish we’ve had in a while. The young man serving us was attentive and looked after us really well, even though he was busy and on the go the whole time. Thank you very much from two old ladies.

The food is amazing, and the manager is warm and friendly, makes you feel welcome. A very nice, friendly pub. Would recommend it.

We booked at the very last minute and weren’t disappointed. The executive suite was comfortable and nicely presented. I saw some critical reviews of the accommodation, but we had no complaints. We didn’t eat there, so I can’t comment on the food.
