We found this at the last minute and got lucky. Had a fabulous few days in a warm, comfortable shepherds hut that was well equipped, with nature all around us.

We love coming back to Tor Royal. The bedrooms are gorgeous and spacious, the beds really comfortable, and the views incredible. Breakfast in the dining room is delicious. Ideal for walking.

We spent three nights here while walking around Dartmoor, and Justine was a great host, happy to help with suggestions for local walks, pubs and more. The house and gardens make a lovely setting, and we especially enjoyed meeting the dogs, chickens, ducks and sheep. Breakfast was delicious each morning, and our rooms were spotless when we got back each night. We’d definitely return.

A quiet, relaxing weekend away would be perfect here. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the house and our room, the Lilly suite, had beautiful decor. Everything was very clean, especially the bathroom, which was spotless. The tea service and mini fridge in the room were handy too. The location is very pretty. Just keep in mind that Dartmoor can get cold and misty if you haven’t been before! We highly recommend it.

We loved our couple of days at Tor Royal. The Garden Room worked perfectly for our dog, with its own enclosed private garden. Our hostess was friendly and breakfast was brilliant. The house is amazing, set in a beautiful natural spot, and the working farm has a fascinating history. A peaceful, welcoming B&B in a brilliant location.
