We stayed at Lookout Lodge and loved the peaceful park, great amenities, and especially the amazing gym. The lodge was stunning, with a lovely deck and fabulous views. I also loved the seaside decorations, a beautiful touch. Ceris gave us a warm welcome and explained what there was to do. The weather didn’t always cooperate, but we had a lovely stay and will be back.
The views are hard to beat, and the food is fantastic. Caroline and the team make you feel very welcome, and the relaxed atmosphere makes this hidden gem worth finding. Great food and company, too. What more could you ask for?
The restaurant was first class, especially the mouth-watering Sunday Carvery. Our lodge was stunning, with a view from the front window that felt like a moving picture. The staff were outstanding, so friendly and helpful, and made us feel like celebrities. Nothing was too much trouble. I can’t thank Wyn and the team enough for giving us everything we could have wanted to relax, unwind, and get away from our usual routine.
We come back to Bay View Lodge several times a year. The kids love the freedom of the outdoor space and pool, and the dog loves it too. The lodge is clean, comfortable, well equipped, and has room to relax or eat both inside and out. The views across the bay are beautiful whatever the weather or time of day, and you can watch boats and wildlife from the decking. The refurbished clubhouse has a decent range of drinks and snacks. As of May 2025, food wasn’t always available because of the refurbishment, though they generally catered during holidays, so check with reception. There are takeaway choices and plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance, plus lots more in nearby towns a short drive away. You can walk to the local beeches and sailing club, or find plenty of stunning beeches along the coast.
The carvery was very nice, with plenty of meat and a good range of starters and puddings. The vegetable choice was limited to one large mix of kale, sugar snaps, and carrots. It was £19.50, and I noticed an extra £5 on my bill that wasn’t itemised.
