We had a brilliant time here, playing board games, putting on music, and waking up to mountains and sheep outside. It’s a lovely old-fashioned guest house with plenty of space for the whole extended family and all the amenities included. ☺️🐑💚

The huge, cosy lounge was a highlight, and the kitchen had everything we could want, plus a bit more. We came as a group of 15, children included, over Easter 2024, and the stay surpassed what we expected. There are lots of good-sized rooms, all well equipped with en-suites, and the back garden was lovely. One of our best stays for both the accommodation and the location. Recommended.

I could happily sit in the woods for hours, listening to birds and watching the bluebells. The grounds are lovely in every season, but this time of year is especially gorgeous, with the bluebell field and trees in bloom.

We’ve been back for a few years and always have a great day. Lancaster castle is a real gem, with beautiful gardens and a wonderful setting. The bird of prey displays are fabulous, and there are good cafes too. Well worth a visit.

It’s a lovely place, and you really need a full day to see it all. The weapons room also has archery and crossbow activities, which are well worth the £10 for 45 minutes. Maria was excellent with our autistic son and gave him extra special care. Thank you.
