I was trapped alone in the car park for nearly an hour after the exit machine wouldn't accept my ticket, even though I'd paid over £8 for an evening's parking from 8pm. The car park was still open, but it has no number plate recognition, which might have helped. I called the office repeatedly. The attendant answered once and lifted the barrier for about a minute, but it came down again before I could start the car and get out. Were there no cameras to make sure I'd left safely? Isn't that part of his job? He needs to be more vigilant and do his job. It's not much to ask. In my distress, I eventually called the police, and the attendant somehow answered the phone after I had been speaking with them. Is that really what a paying customer has to do to get proper help? Management needs to investigate this urgently. I first wrote about this disgraceful experience after it happened on Saturday 1st November around 11pm, and I complained afterwards. Last Sunday, 2nd November, I got a reply saying my complaint would be urgently passed to this particular car park manager. A week later, I've still had no proper response. That's an inadequate way for both the attendant and manager to behave. I'm writing again to make clear that I believe the car park attendant was at fault.
