Breakfast was well worth including, and the rooms were clean, spacious and nicely laid out. The beds were so comfortable it was hard to get up. They had a good hairdryer, very fast heating and a hot drinks station. Downstairs there’s a high-quality coffee machine available all day and night, a clean, roomy seating area, and a good range of items for sale at the desk around the clock. Daily room cleaning is available if needed. Martin greeted us on arrival with a smile and was friendly and informative. Several staff served breakfast, but Kopila really stood out: she was cheerful, welcoming and efficient, kept the buffet stocked, and remembered what we liked with our cooked breakfast from the first morning. We really appreciated her care and hope she gets recognized. Farjana at the front desk also went above and beyond. Whether it was morning, afternoon or late at night, she was always kind and smiling, handled any task, and stayed professional while making us feel like friends. Her thoughtful help made our stay special, and we hope she gets recognition too. Rischa at reception was always friendly as well. This is easily our favourite hotel in the town centre, good value for money, and we’ll absolutely be back. Thanks to all the staff we mentioned.

It’s very central, an easy walk from the station, and close to the canal if you fancy a stroll. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and everything felt clean and bright. I thought it was good value and would stay again. The Italian delivery place next door is worth a visit.

The bathroom had a slight sewage smell unless I kept the small extractor fan running, which was the one issue I had. Otherwise, it was a really good stay and I’d come back, fan on. The location is so handy, just seconds from the High Street, River, Oracle shopping centre and local sights and restaurants. Parking is only £8 for 24 hours, which is excellent value, though the car park is tiny and the entrance narrow. There are concessions at a bigger car park if the hotel’s own is full. The staff were welcoming, the room was modern, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. There’s also a 24-hour concierge and room service.

The room was clean and the staff were nice, so it was fine for one night. But it’s a budget hotel and I wouldn’t spend my own money on it at the current price. The bed is very soft, so it won’t suit you if you prefer a firm mattress. There’s no lift, and the narrow stairs go up several floors, so you’ll need to carry your bags. They should make the lack of accessibility clear in the advert. The shower was the smallest I’ve ever seen. I’m a normal-sized woman and couldn’t turn around in it. There’s plenty of room for improvement.

On the High St, there’s no shortage of good places to eat, and the hotel’s rooms are well maintained. They’re compact, more like a Holiday Inn Express setup, but fine if you’re travelling alone for business. Parking is a nightmare, as it is with hotels in busy areas. I’d suggest using Queens road multistorey car park and walking the short distance to the hotel. The car park behind the hotel is a nightmare.
