We stayed three nights with my dog, and I'm looking forward to coming back. The staff were friendly, accommodating and always ready to help. Booking was easy, they gave us a suitable room and made an effort to keep us comfortable. It's great value for money and I'd definitely recommend it. The location is handy for a quick trip into the centre, but at night it's so quiet you can see the stars clearly. It's right next to a pub that does a decent roast dinner, and there's plenty of parking. My only issue was having just one usable plug socket in the room. There were lots of USB sockets, but I didn't have a USB plug. As for the other reviews, it's a hotel, so you're going to get different kinds of guests, including families and people out drinking late. I didn't find anything too disturbing, and I usually get irritated pretty easily.

We left without staying, and I can't give this place even one star. The bathroom wasn't fit for purpose, the room was filthy, and the whole hotel stank of weed. The person at reception was dismissive and only said, “I'm sorry you feel that way.” Head office offered us a free breakfast next time. There won't be a next time.

We spent a couple of weeks here, and the staff were all great and really helpful. Our room was spacious, as was the bathroom, and there was plenty of hot water. The shower pressure could've been stronger, but it did the job. It was quiet inside the hotel. The shared car park with the World Turned Upside Down pub got a little noisy sometimes, but the pub closed at 22.00, so it wasn't a problem. The breakfast box was £6.95 and came with cornflakes, milk, water, a flapjack and a pastry. It did the job for me in the morning.

We booked for Saturday 7th March because our son had an appointment at great ormond street hospital, and getting back to Devon afterwards would've been too far. The room was very clean, the staff were friendly, and the hotel was nice and quiet.

There's a bus right outside with regular services into the Reading centre, and the motorway network isn't far away. The rooms are a good size and have what you need for a stopover. The pub next door serves good evening meals, and the place is friendly.
