The lodge was clean and well looked after, and we had a lovely stay. I booked it for my husband’s birthday, and after I ordered decorations they set them up before we arrived. It was such a great surprise for him, and they’d even written him a birthday card, a thoughtful extra. We’re looking forward to doing our plantable welcome pot. The resort has a gorgeous pool and lovely views, and we enjoyed the walk through the woods down to Portreath. We’ll be back, thank you!

We had a brilliant week in the 6 Person Signature Lodge with two kids and our dog. It was very clean, and we loved having the pizza area and making marshmallows every night. It’s quite out of the way, but a great place to relax. The only disappointment was paying extra for early check-in, then being delayed when we arrived after a seven-hour drive. We went in July, which was peak season and probably busy, and they explained the previous guests had checked out late. Still, I didn’t get a refund for what I paid.

We had a great New Year break at Gwel an Mor in a three-bedroom signature lodge. The staff were friendly and quick to sort out a couple of small issues, even outside normal hours. The lodge was nicely designed, well equipped and clean enough for us. We also enjoyed massages and the pool, sauna and steam room, though the changing rooms are looking tired. At this price, I wouldn’t expect more. The woodland footpath to Portreath is well maintained, but quite steep, so older or less fit visitors might prefer to drive. The resort is currently in administration, and we hope a buyer is found so we can return.

There’s plenty to do onsite, including swimming, soft play and a small animal zoo. The lodge has a lovely view of Portreath beach, which you can walk to, and the resort itself is beautiful. Staff were helpful and friendly, and the restaurant team were excellent. We had the best time and will definitely be back. I’d highly recommend it.
