The Cedars

David was a lovely, welcoming host, and so helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. We stayed for two nights because the place was close to a wedding we were attending. Parking was spacious and easy. Breakfast was brilliant, cooked just how we liked it, and served in a lovely conservatory overlooking the gardens and ducks. David asks what time you’ll come down, and there’s also a coffee, drinks and water station on an honesty system for out of hours. Our room, which I think was the lowest tier, was clean, bright and very well finished, with thoughtful details like the plug placement. We had a lovely view over the garden and duck pond, with delightful running ducks. It was incredibly reasonably priced and the bed was exceedingly comfortable. We had a lot of wedding luggage and could have used more floor space, so next time I’d upgrade to a bigger room. We really enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to visit again if we’re in the area. The setting was very quiet, with local amenities nearby, and we’d happily stay again. Janet and David were attentive, and the rooms were spacious with everything you’d need. Breakfast was excellent, and it was lovely watching the ducks parade around the attractive large garden. Thanks for making our stay comfortable, highly recommended.

Janet & David gave us such a warm welcome and let us check in early so we could get changed before heading to a wedding. Nothing was too much trouble. We were only there for one night this weekend while in Cornwall for the wedding, but had a fantastic stay. The house sits in beautiful grounds, with lovely gardens and views of the surrounding area. Our room was spacious and meticulously clean, the shower was fantastic, and the beds were so comfortable. We both had the best night’s sleep we’d had in ages. Breakfast was tasty and more than enough, with beautiful duck eggs. The homemade jam is a must try, I wanted to take some home! We ate outside in the sun and could have stayed all day enjoying the peace, quiet and amazing view. We’ll definitely be back and would recommend anyone stay here and see for themselves. The owners clearly work hard to make guests comfortable, and they’re kind and friendly. This wonderful property is in a semi secluded setting, well maintained and fitted out with modern fixtures. The garden is beautiful, with resident ducks, and the spacious rooms are kept extremely clean. We had the family room with a king-sized bed and two singles. There’s free secure parking on the property, and the full English breakfast is a must. Tea and coffee were free to make in the room, while fresh milk and snacks were downstairs with an honesty jar for midnight munchies. There was also a large selection of DVDs and books for days spent in bed. I’d come again without looking anywhere else.
