The caravan was clean and comfortable, and the facilities suited my five-year-old granddaughter and us grandparents really well. She loved the arcade and the 6 o’clock kids’ show, but most of all the pool. I hadn’t realised you had to book a pool slot in advance. We also spent lots of time at the beach thanks to the glorious weather, and the food was good, especially the pizzas. We stayed four nights over half-term. This kind of holiday isn’t usually my choice, but we had a great time. My only gripe is the litter. That’s not a dig at the staff, who work hard enough already. Some people just can’t be bothered to clean up after themselves.

The grounds were tidy, the pool looked clean and fresh, and you can see money has gone into the complex and entertainment areas. We booked a private caravan for four nights and really enjoyed our stay, helped along by amazing weather. We were right on the beach, the food we tried was fine, and it made a good base for Llandudno. We’ll return. The entertainment got a little dodgy after bingo. They had kids’ entertainment before bingo, so I think the later slot should be aimed more at adults. You can’t control what guests do, of course, but litter and noise did let the place down.

We booked through Sun Holiday and had a gold caravan that was in excellent condition. A few days before, someone called to check we had everything we needed and let us arrange an early check-in because of our daughter’s medical items. There really need to be more bins with lids, though. The seagulls are having a field day, with nappies and used pads getting scattered across the road from the bins.

The caravan itself was clean, comfortable and lovely, but the week was still disappointing and ruined our daughter’s birthday. Activities kept being cancelled because of a “shortage of staff”: the karts were closed, four character activities had no characters, and slime making was cancelled. Our four- and five-year-olds were let down every day. We also tried bingo and the arcade, but none of the cash machines had money. A £10 top-up on a card went wrong, and staff said a bank refund could take up to 10 days because of system issues. At the park, five adults and children got into a brawl, swearing, shouting and threatening violence. Police were called. Three women nearly fought and said they’d “kill them” later if they were seen. We took the children away, upset, because they shouldn’t have to witness that at a children’s park. The check-in and payment situation was especially upsetting. I told reception there was an outstanding balance when I checked in, after waiting 30 minutes for them to find my booking. The receptionist said I was checked in, gave me the pack and keys, showed us where the caravan was and told us to enjoy our stay. Later, a neighbour said security had been looking through our windows and doors while we were out. At 9:15 pm, once the children were asleep, a security guard banged on the door and aggressively demanded payment, saying reception had sent him. When I asked if he could take payment, he said he didn’t take cards and I had to go to reception, though it was closed. I explained I’d told reception about the balance, but he rudely cut me off and said I had to pay first thing or security would come back. The banging woke and scared both children. I was 26 weeks pregnant and had to share a bed with the four- and five-year-olds because they were afraid the “bad man” would return. This was unprofessional and unfair when I’d already made the balance clear at reception. The next day, the receptionist apologised for her mistake and took the payment, but the damage was done and the children wanted to go home. We love coming to this site, but after emailing reception as they advised, I’ve had no reply. It feels like we wasted a lot of money on a week we couldn’t enjoy.

We’ve been here four years, three times a year, and usually have an amazing time. This visit was awful. The new park is exciting, but older children were climbing all over it and sitting on top, hurting my son and encouraging other kids to copy them, with no parents watching. Another time, children soaked the slides with water guns. A child who looked no older than two came down, hit their nose, and there was blood everywhere. The following day, kids were throwing water bottles up the slides, which was dangerous for anyone coming down. My children were scared to use the park after the older kids’ behaviour. When asked to stop before someone got hurt, the kids swore. Parents weren’t around, or were sitting in the club drinking. I think you need security, clear rules, and children should be supervised. The park will be wrecked before long if it keeps being treated this way. I raised it with a staff member and was told it wasn’t their problem.
