Best Western Kings Head Hotel

Laura really stood out among the staff. The restaurant was busy, but she insisted on finding us a table for dinner on our first night because we were staying there. We spent two nights with friends in this lovely old building, right in the centre for exploring Richmond, and both rooms were lovely. There were nice toiletries, a range of teas and a coffee machine. We’d definitely stay again.

The staff were excellent and helpful, and the location couldn’t have been better. The room my wife and I shared, though, was tired and fell short of what I expected from a 4* hotel. Cobwebs hung from the ceiling, and plaster was missing from both front corners of the bay window. The inside window sill had been patched, but the filler hadn’t been cleaned off or painted, and the repair didn’t look recent. The room quality left a lot to be desired.

We weren’t staying in Richmond, but booked a meal here between a rehearsal and a concert. The food was wonderful, and the staff were superb: friendly, helpful and professional. I’d definitely come back next time I’m in the area.

The staff were great and, apart from the room issues, it was a fabulous hotel. The room needs updating, and there were obvious signs of a ceiling leak. The bathroom window was stuck open by a few inches, while the main room window wouldn’t open. It was very warm, and even with a fan the room stayed hot.
