The Bedford Arms

The staff were friendly, professional and welcoming, and both dinner and breakfast were great. Our room was cosy and comfortable, with air con that was very welcome on the hottest weekend of the year!

I hadn't been to the venue before, so I wasn't sure what to expect when I booked the ‘Bigger Comfy’ room for a wedding. I was amazed when I checked in: it had a four poster bed, views across the local fields and a double shower. The room's decor fits the hotel, and it felt cosy even though it was spacious. I was told the heating wasn't working, but there were two radiator heaters in the room, and it stayed so warm overnight that I didn't need to use them. The bathroom was a real highlight, beautifully decorated, and the shower was something else. Breakfast the next morning was lovely, cooked to order and made with what seemed like great quality produce. The hotel sits away from noise, with lovely views around it, and I could see people walking nearby, so it seems ideal for exploring. The unofficial pub cat was around during the day and night too, which I loved. I was gutted to be staying just one night. It was a wonderful place, and I'd happily come back.

Room No. 14 was lovely and peaceful, with a beautiful double-window view over the fields. It was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the larger bathroom had a powerful double-headed shower. There were nice tea and coffee facilities too. The young staff were helpful and professional. The restaurant served a nice selection of typical pub dishes, and the prices weren't too steep. We were visiting Harry Potter world, and this was a pleasant, good value stopover. We'd be very happy to stay again if we're back in the area.

We only stayed one night in room 14, but it was glorious. Even on one of the hottest days in May, the room stayed so cool, and it was gorgeous. The double shower was lovely and the bed was really comfy. Thank you.
