My wife and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at The Star Public House, Ringwood, and had a fantastic time from beginning to end. The music was brilliant, the food amazing, and the staff couldn’t have done more for us. A very big thank you to everyone for faultless service.

We tried the weekday lunchtime starters deal, three for the price of two, and enjoyed it. The salt and pepper squid and Thai fishcakes were especially fresh and zingy. We were told everything was prepared in house. It’s also a nice old pub building if you just fancy stopping for a drink.

My brother spotted the pub’s chalkboard and chose it for lunch on my birthday outing. He’s particular about what he eats, but enjoyed his Thai green curry with rice and wants to return to try more of the menu. I had the stir-fried beef with ginger and spring onions, also with rice. Both servings were enough to fill us up. His wanting to come back says plenty.
