The rooms were clean and nicely decorated, and good value, though the beds were squeezed in. Dogs are welcome for a £15 surcharge. We had no hot water in the morning, which cost it a star, and with the rooms being self-service there was nobody around to ask. “Fit for purpose” sums them up. We stopped for one night while hiking. The pub is separate from the rooms, and we enjoyed the food, though it was a little pricey. The staff were friendly.

The photos show the Duke Salad and Cheesy Garlic Bread. We had lunch here with our grandchildren, who had plenty to choose from. They picked chicken chunks with chips and scampi with chips and peas. The servings were so generous that none of them could finish, and the adult meals were just as big and delicious. We waited a few extra minutes, but everything arrived piping hot. Service was spot on, and staff checked that we were happy. I’d highly recommend it for a meal.

If you're hungry around here, this is well worth stopping at. The beachside location is lovely, service was really quick, and the chips were amazing. Everything tasted great, including the vegan butternut squash risotto, which was delish. It was basically half a roasted squash topped with risotto, with chips and salad too.

I’ve been coming here for 18 years, so it really upset me to be let down this badly. Over my two-week stay, both breakfast and dinner disappointed on three occasions. It used to be fresh food, but everything we had this time seemed to come from frozen. The unlimited breakfast was edible, just not enjoyable, and charging 10.00 for a child who only wanted cereal is wild. I don’t know if it’s under new management. I feel foolish for recommending the place to friends and family.
