The open fireplace gives this characterful local pub in Whitworth a lovely feel. The food is great, and it's very dog friendly.

We stopped in for a quick drink and a look around the area. This 'blue badge' pub is comfortable and welcoming, with plenty of history behind it. It's tucked away in a quaint village, and the outdoor seating lets you enjoy the lovely surroundings.

We found this little pub while looking for somewhere local to visit, and the friendly staff and locals made it a lovely stop. There was a fire going, and the food was a real bonus. Dogs and horses are welcome, though horses don't come inside. I'd thoroughly recommend a visit.

Breakfast isn't served until 10, and we had an early start, so an 8 am option would have suited us better. That's the only small criticism, hence the four stars. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the portions of delicious food were good. Staff were welcoming and friendly. We were there for a funeral, and some of the more 'vocal' mourners came along in the evening to keep us company. The team took it all in stride, and the service stayed pleasant and unaffected. Thanks, guys. I'd recommend the place.

The pub quiz was a lot of fun, and we met nice people. The food is excellent and fairly priced.
