Inner Dowsing Lightship

Jeremy was an amazing host. After we booked, he kept in touch, sent directions, and told us about local amenities when we arrived. We booked the family room for two adults and two children. The boat has a charming history, and it’s clear the owners have taken great pride in restoring it. The room had a lovely ambience and all the facilities we needed, including children’s books, a well presented en-suite bathroom, a good sized TV and free Wi-Fi. The river and Rochester castle views were lovely, and the kids enjoyed watching the ducks in the morning. We were away for our son’s 7th birthday, and although I’d only asked for a message wishing him a happy birthday, Jeremy surprised us with balloons, a card and a present. Such a lovely touch. We hope to come back, maybe in summer, as I can imagine the deck is a great place to watch the river in the sunshine. Even in freezing weather, the whole area looked beautiful under the frost. We’ve just got home after a really enjoyable long weekend in Rochester for the Christmas markets. The accommodation was top notch, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Our hosts Jeremy and Eunha were absolutely charming, along with their young family. We’d highly recommend staying here. The only slight downside was the walk into town. It took a good 30 minutes through some dark terrain, but taxis are easy to get and cost about £7:50 on average. Ron and Gill

The staff are super friendly, and I’d really recommend this B&B. It’s close enough to the city centre, though the surroundings make it feel remote. The boat has a traditional atmosphere but all the facilities you need.

The room was clean and decorated with care and attention to detail. Breakfast was stunning, and the lovely couple made us feel very welcome ;) Highly recommended.
