RBS Hotel

We were refused our check-in after the hotel manager asked where we were from. We said we’d travelled from London, and my partner is East African. The manager, an Asian man aged around 50-60, said, “people like you i am not tolerate here,” without giving any reason for refusing our booking. We felt discriminated against at check-in, and I will take legal action against the company under the Equality Act 2010.

The room was very dirty, and the receptionist was rude and angry and didn’t provide good service. Hotel management was very, very rude as well. We paid for the room until the next day, but because of the lack of service, we checked out that same night.

It did the job as a bed for the night, but I wouldn’t rave about the place. There was so much dust that if the room appeared on “Four in a bed,” the guest could have got a free stay from the amount on their finger. In reality, though, it wasn’t a major problem. It was OK and served a purpose.

I felt disappointed with the service after a simple request for a bottle of water in the morning turned into the hotel manager shouting at me and refusing to give me one. It had a real effect on my stay. Guests should be treated with respect and kindness, even over something small. I hope the feedback helps improve the service for future guests.
