The kindness of the owners and the people around Highland Glen Lodges made this stay feel especially memorable. They were nearby whenever we needed help, but never in our way. Thanks for clearing the snow and de-icing the car, too. The local farmers and the man who ploughed the roads are part of a great community, and it’s lovely to see the area still has charms that seem to be disappearing elsewhere. My family is seriously thinking about moving to the Highlands of Scotland after this trip. We had an out-of-this-world view, and there are lovely walks right from the door. The little touches were much appreciated, from the bird feeder, chocolates and cookies to the champagne, DVDs and board games. It’s a perfect spot to escape the everyday rush. We spoke with a Polish couple in the neighbouring lodge who visit four times a year, and I can see why. Thank you for giving David, Hao, Alice and Penelope a memory of a lifetime.

Watching the birds visit the feeders on the balcony kept us entertained, and the views were magnificent. The lodges were spotless and had everything we needed. Such a lovely place for a peaceful, relaxing stay.

We took our dog along for five nights at The Highland Glen Lodges, and the cabin was cozy and comfortable throughout. A walk up to the lake is well worth doing for the breathtaking views. The scenery around the lodge felt like a dream, and the owners' hospitality made the stay even more special. Our whole family had a fantastic time and would happily recommend it.

We loved watching the wildlife from the balcony, or from the sofa when the wind was cold. Red kites, buzzards and kestrels came close, we heard owls and cuckoos, spotted deer on the hills, and watched the lambs messing about in the neighbouring field. It’s also easy to leave the car behind and take the train to places such as RSPB Forsinard in the flow country or Inverness. The lodge was clean, comfortable and cozy, with everything we needed, and the hosts were friendly and easy to reach if needed. It’s in a great spot for day trips to some amazing places, with a fabulous view from the lodge. Highly recommended.

The walk up the hill to the lake, as suggested in the welcome manual, was spectacular, with gorgeous scenery and colours. The lodge itself is in a really quiet, remote spot, with lovely countryside and hill views. Our sunny mornings were spent having breakfast outside and listening to the quiet. We stayed midweek for three nights with my mother-in-law, my partner and our dog, and all of us felt that wasn't nearly long enough. Everything we needed was there, including cleaning products, sponges, dish towels, a recycling crate, hairdryer and dishwasher. The shared cabin has a washing machine, dryer and ironing equipment, plus a big selection of books, DVDs and board games. The owner was so lovely, greeting us when we arrived and stopping by to say goodbye and ask how we’d enjoyed our stay. We’re keen to come back soon, and some family members are already planning a trip after seeing our photos.
