Holiday Inn Express Rotherham North by IHG

The rooms are a good size and the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was fine, though getting a free table felt like a bit of a race. The lighting in the room was poor, and the air conditioning instructions could be clearer for people who don't know the symbols. I initially got cold air, but figured out the controls after looking more carefully.

I was here for work and liked the friendly staff, bar and dining area, plus the gluten-free menu. The room had a good TV that made it easy to connect my laptop and watch Sky Sports, and YouTube and other media were available too. The free Wi-Fi was good at first, though it became intermittent later in the evening.

We needed somewhere at short notice after another booking was cancelled, and the hotel was very accommodating. Breakfast was included and was really nice. There was some long black hair on the bathroom floor and in the shower, which was the one downside.

For the price, this is a good place to stay, with roomy rooms, plenty of parking and breakfast included. Expect a full English breakfast and some cereal. There's a desk in the room if you need to work remotely, but the internet is rubbish, so you'll need your phone hotspot to browse. Good value overall.
