The friendly team made the stay for me. Everyone was welcoming and helpful throughout, especially the chef, who was lovely with the kids and happy to help with anything. The hotel rates were extremely good too. It's a small family-run pub hotel with character, a little out of the way. The bar and restaurant are cosy, and the beer garden is a nice place to sit with a drink while the kids tire themselves out in the play area. Our family room was a good size for us and our two smallish children. The food was decent, hearty pub fare at a great price, and breakfast had everything we needed. There's a bit of a drive to get places, but I'd rather stay at a welcoming country pub with a good atmosphere and brilliant staff than at one of the soulless chains.

We went for a meal and didn't see the rooms, but the restaurant was small and cosy. It was pie night, on Thursdays at the time, and the food was absolutely fantastic. Best pie we've had in ages. Compliments to the chef, we'll certainly be back!

It's a lovely, classic country pub, though a little out of the way. The hosts are great, and it's popular with the locals. There are good gluten-free choices on the menu. I'd definitely come back.

The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful, and we had a very enjoyable lunch at the Shoulder of Mutton for our monthly car club get-together. There was plenty of variety on the menu. I had the steak and ale pie with chips and peas, served with lots of rich gravy, and it was delicious. My wife really enjoyed the hunter's chicken too. Both meals were excellent value. Thank you.

The staff were friendly, welcoming and very accommodating, and the food was great. We enjoyed both dinner and a delicious breakfast. It's a lovely little find in a peaceful village, perfect for our family and dog. We'll definitely book again. Thank you.
