The Star Bistro

We had a lovely afternoon meal, and the beer garden was nice too. I parked easily on the street up the road, and we’ll be back soon. The staff were so friendly, and the bar lady and cook did all they could to make sure we were happy. It’s a welcoming little pub with a great atmosphere and a varied menu. My companion’s burger came with cheese and bacon, and the fries were crisp outside and fluffy inside, with a dressed side salad. I had the scampi and chips, cooked just right, with a balsamic dressed salad. Everything was hot and delicious. Thanks for a lovely visit.

We’re staying for a week at a local Air B&B and found this spot while looking for lunch. There were five of us, and the friendly staff pushed tables together for us. We had two kids’ portions of sausage, chips and beans, a chicken burger, a beef burger, and chicken roulade. Everything was really tasty, especially the homemade chips. Both burgers came with bacon and cheese, and there was a huge choice of sauces. Highly recommended!

The steak was cooked just how I asked, with perfect flavour, and the chicken and mushroom tagliatelle was tasty and generous. We got friendly service and it was easy to order. I’m glad we found this place to eat.

The food was great and piping hot, and the beer was spot on too. The lady was so lovely and made my family and me feel really welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. I’ve never felt this welcome in a pub, and I can’t say enough good things about the place.
