Grantham House

It felt more like staying in a home than a hotel, and it's a lovely place to be. Chris, the host, was so nice, humble and friendly. He helped with directions and tips so we could fit everything in during a short stay and make the most of it. I'd definitely recommend it for families or friends looking for a house to stay in.

The beach is about 300m down the road, shops are roughly a 10 minute walk away, and there are plenty of bars, pubs and restaurants nearby. Some restaurants close fairly early, around 9:00 pm. Grantham House has a huge, well kept garden, about 70-80 m long, that's easy to access, and free Wi-Fi in the beautiful Victorian villa with lots of original features. We stayed in the Bay and Lavender rooms. Both were huge and had a sink, drawers, a few hangers, plenty of light and blackout blinds. The king-size beds had good quality linen, and everything was clean and tidy. The towels were big, soft and fluffy. Booking the two upper rooms means B&B, with a plentiful continental breakfast that was fresh, tasty and good quality. The basement apartment is self catering. Chris was welcoming even before we arrived. Payment was easy online and good value, and he sent us a link for a Wightlink ferry discount plus a detailed list of local restaurants and other places. He showed us around the house and talked us through things to do and see, with useful local transport advice. I highly recommend this B&B for a break in Ryde, Isle of Wight. We won't be disappointed. It's a friendly, small boutique-style hotel with excellent Wi-Fi. There aren't many facilities.

Chris was really nice and helpful, and we loved our couple of nights at this B&B after Easter. The room was spacious, pretty and well equipped. I'd very much recommend staying here.
