They were so helpful and caring when our original venue let us down at the last minute. More than 40 of us had already chosen a three course meal elsewhere, and this hotel made that food for us. Some of us stayed overnight too; the rooms were clean and pleasant, and breakfast had lots of choice and was lovely. The staff were friendly and really made it work. Thank you to everyone!

We ate here every night of the week we stayed, and every meal was delicious and cooked just right. The staff were brilliant, quick with the service, and happy to help with anything. The location worked perfectly for us too, with the bus depot opposite and the train station and hovercraft nearby. We’d highly recommend the hotel and will visit again. Thanks so much, everyone!

Mike, the owner, was there chatting with people and lending a hand, which I thought was a lovely touch. Hannah also took care of my wife's food allergies, so a special thank you to her. We’ve stayed at the Royal Esplanade many times before and recognized the same staff. This four night Christmas package was a fantastic time away, with a great team making Christmas work so well. We’ve just come back from a weekend at the Royal esplanade and really liked the hotel. The room was very clean and the staff were lovely. The bed was so comfy that we couldn’t bring ourselves to get up, so we missed breakfast.

The team were such a hardworking, friendly bunch, especially Siobhan, and the lovely food added a lot to our Christmas break. We also had a sociable time chatting with some great guests. Our big room was on the third floor, facing the seafront and overlooking the hoverport, which was interesting to watch. For a drink and a game of scrabble or dominoes, there’s Harry's Bar next door, which also belongs to the hotel. It’s small, cosy and sociable. We’d been back in September for a short break and hope to return soon.
