It’s really peaceful and quiet here, with friendly staff and spotless caravans. Some have decking and furniture, which makes sitting outside on a summer evening especially nice.

We liked the caravan’s size, the comfy bed and the location, but cleanliness was a serious issue across all three caravans our family booked. There was a strong dog smell in each, even my sister’s non pet friendly one, where it was particularly bad. The carpets were very dirty, and the windows and door had smears from previous guests’ dogs. Under the sofa cushions we found crumbs and cigarette papers and filters; there were crumbs on the sides and food on the utensils too. We all ended up covered in bug bites. I don’t know if they were bed bugs, fleas, or some other bug issue on the island. I had to go to a pharmacy and get prescribed a steroid cream. When my sister raised the cleaning issues, the staff member was polite but said it was “end of season.” That shouldn’t mean standards slip while you’re still taking bookings and money. The gardeners did lovely work on the grounds, and there’s a beautiful beach and a shop within walking or a short drive. It’d be great if they added evening entertainment or a pub on site one day. We knew those weren’t there when we booked, but it would make the place better for holidayers.

We had a fabulous week at St Helens Coastal resort over October half term, and would happily return. Our indulgent lodge was huge, comfortable and cosy. It’s a peaceful site with no clubhouse or entertainment, exactly what we wanted since our almost 13 year old has outgrown that sort of thing. The location is brilliant for exploring the island and close to Fishbourne ferry. From the site we enjoyed walks to the Duver, along Bembridge Harbour and into Bembridge village. The View cafe and Pilot Boat Inn are local gems, and you can walk to The Vine pub, a convenience shop, a cafe and a book shop in St Helens. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. We’d mentioned two birthdays in our booking, and there was a complimentary birthday pack waiting in the lodge, with balloons, a banner, candles and a badge. This is our happy place.

We had a luxury lodge with a hot tub. It was spacious and had everything we needed. Really nice place to stay, and we’d definitely come again.

The location worked really well for us, with St Helen’s beach a short walk away and buses into Ryde and further on. There’s a lively pub a few minutes away on foot, so no need to drive, and I actually preferred that the site had no clubhouse. It was peaceful and quiet, though families wanting lots of activities might find it a bit still. Our lodge felt nearly new and had everything we needed. The grounds were clean and well kept, and the staff were lovely. We got to enjoy the sunshine and hot tub into the evening. The little pool was cute, but we wished it had stayed open longer in that warm weather. I loved it and would definitely come back, maybe for a luxury lodge with a rooftop view.
